TOP launches The Last Straw Seychelles

the last straw seychelles Campaign

We've been making some noise about this for a while and, on Saturday, we were finally able to officially launch The Last Straw Seychelles campaign! Thank you to everyone that dropped by on the day to get involved, complete our survey, buy some merchandise or just say hey. We conducted approx 100 surveys on the day and the survey is now online, so get involved as we'll be giving away some freebies to a lucky winner! We were also lucky to have our friends from The Meraki Foundation join us to display some art we made together out of marine litter collected at our clean ups. This is part of a larger plastic arts project of ours - stay tuned!

The Last Straw Seychelles is our latest campaign to reduce the use of plastic straws in Seychelles and the amount ending up in our oceans. The success of the campaign will depend on YOU - individuals and venues - changing the way we do things and committing to stop using plastic straws. We all know that plastic straws (like other single-use plastics) are one of those items that most of us can live without. As an individual, you can be part of the solution to the problem by saying "no thanks" to plastic straws and going without or getting a reusable straw. You can pledge your commitments towards #TheLastStrawSey campaign and share the good news to inspire others to do so!

As a venue - hotel, restaurant, cafe, etc., you can also join #TheLastStrawSey campaign by signing up to become a Member Venue and committing to stop serving plastic straws. Plastic straws may not cost a lot to purchase, but the cost to our environment is phenomenal. By no longer serving plastic straws, venues will help create measurable impact for the oceans. To help with the transition, once your venue signs up, we'll send you everything you need to get started. We'll also promote your efforts and link your venue to a global movement to curb plastic pollution!
